Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a home inspection for?

A: To provide a thorough examination of your new home to determine the potential costs of current repair/maintenance, serious defects, hazards, and to help you understand future maintenance expenses, all providing peace of mind.

Q: My house is fairly new, do I really need an inspection?

A: We have been in the building industry for 40 years, involved in constructing hundreds of homes; custom and tract, all homes contain defects, errors, failed systems, regardless of age.

Q: My friend is a contractor, can’t he do it?

A: We are licensed contractors and before becoming certified inspectors we knew enough to do our specific jobs but had little involvement in every aspect of building, very few contractors do. You do not know what you don’t know until you know it!

Q: Why can’t I do it myself?

A: If you have not actually built a home on your own, from the ground up, you have no idea the thousands of items we look for. Would you conduct your own surgery? Or repair your own broken limb?
We have thousands of hours in the field, examined thousands of homes. We have the experience to identify any potential defects.

Q: Do you fix things that are wrong?

A:  California Business & Professions Code prevents us from repairing defective items we discover.
